Other positions have included President of the British Association of Endocrine Surgeons, Member of Council of the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland, Executive Member of the European Society of Endocrine Surgeons, Member of the Breast Group of the British Association of Surgical Oncologists, Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine and the International Society of Surgery, member of the intercollegiate board of examiners of the Royal Colleges of Surgery and the Specialist Advisory Committee in General Surgery.
Medical Director of Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Trust and Associate Editor of the British Journal of Surgery.
