I have been appointed as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon nearly ten years ago and I have special interest in Trauma and Lower Limb reconstructive surgery including computer assisted knee replacement surgery and arthroscopic surgery.
I regularly conduct teaching sessions for postgraduates in paediatric orthopaedics and limb reconstruction. I travel to India frequently to lecture to post graduates. I also help conduct course in Limb Reconstruction Surgery. After qualifying in India as an orthopaedic surgeon in 1985, I received advanced training in Ireland and South East UK. I have completed a fellowship in paediatrics and limb reconstruction surgery in Sheffield. I also travelled to Kurgon Trauma Institute in Siberia, Russia to receive advanced training in Limb Reconstruction.
I am a member of British Orthopaedic Association and British Limb Reconstruction Society. I also hold visiting fellowship at Brighton Medical University.
I have wide range of expertise in orthopaedic surgery. I undertake trauma and general orthopaedic procedures including arthroscopy of hip, knee and ankle joints. My area of subspecialty is limb reconstruction for difficult trauma, non-union and deformities including post-polio paralysis. I am also a fellowship trained paediatric orthopaedic surgeon and I treat cases of club feet and developmental dislocation of hip. I also look after adolescent athlete. I carry out hip and knee replacement surgery for arthritis including computer assisted knee replacement surgery.
Philosophy
Patient always remains at the centre of my care. I believe in easily accessible, affordable, prompt care for musculoskeletal problems to maximise recovery and early return to function. I update my knowledge by attending scientific meetings regularly.
